The gifted Finnish-British bassist, cellist, guitarist and producer Ilja John Lappin is known for his unique playing technique that blends different styles with complex bass lines. He made a name for himself in the progressive metal band THE HIRSCH EFFEKT and with his solo project PINHEAD, earning the nickname “Slappin’ Lappin” for his powerful attack.
A musical chameleon, Ilja has not only left his mark on the rock and metal scene, but has also collaborated with artists such as David Hasselhoff, Lena Meyer-Landrut, Unheilig, Fettes Brot and, most recently, German hip-hop legends ALLIGATOAH.
